Mariano Back On The Horse...Still No Batista vs. Sox

Mariano showed that blowing his first two save opportunities means little.

I don't know if this is true, I didn't think it was important enough to research.

Apparently someone put Mariano on eBay.

If this was a Yankee fan, shame on you!

If it was a Sox fan, that's pretty funny, one of the great jabs that makes a rivalry great.

Frankly, I wish I would have thought about that when Foulke was handed the loss in the second game, when he gave up the walk off homerun to Jeter.

Mr. Rivera showed how mentally tough he is by taking the mound in Yankee Stadium again today, and in 16 pitches, saved his first game of many this season. He gave up one hit and struck out one.

No worries, he's still one of the best closers out there.

In other news...

It looked like Toronto was actually heading into a save situation for Batista.

Toronto had a 6-5 lead in the 8th.

But then the Blue Jays opened it up on the Sox, doubling their score in one inning.

The Sox could do nothing more in the 9th. The Jays didn't even need their half of the 9th inning...

Game over 12-5, Toronto.

Still no trial run for Batista.

Again I say, maybe tomorrow...
