The San Diego Chargers, of all people, sat in a great position.

They have a proven QB, Drew Brees, with a franchise QB in the wings, Phil Rivers, they have the best TE out there in Antonio Gates, he puts up WR numbers. They have an awesome RB in Ladanian Tomlinson, throw in WR's Keenan McCardell and a healthy Reche Caldwell, and then what?

The Chargers have the 12th and 28th pick in the draft, what do you do?

They already made the playoffs last year, they got dropped early, by a lucky NY Jets.

What do you do?

Take the best available players.

Both happen to be on the defensive side of the ball.

Defensive End Shawn Merriman, and Defensive Tackle Luis Castillo.

That's what you do.
