Would You Pay $130 Million To A Guy That Is Going To Be 34 At The End Of The Deal???

The Atlanta Falcons did. To Michael Vick no less.

I don't like this deal.

``The only thing that matters is winning football games,'' Vick said Thursday. ``It's not about being the highest-paid guy in the NFL because that doesn't mean anything if you don't win football games.''

Well he has done that, somewhat. But Mr. Vick, with the salary cap, what about when they can't afford to build a team around you? What then?

``It's no longer a distraction,'' Vick said. ``We got the deal out of the way and we were able to move forward, so I'm very excited about that.''

No frickin' kidding, I bet you're excited.

Mr. Vick, I get it, not being the highest paid player would be distracting. Your first contract was signed in 2001, and everybody knows 2001 money doesn't feed a family these days, just ask Latrell Sprewell.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Vick. But out of these three guys who should make the most money, Vick, Peyton Manning, or Tom Brady? The obvious answer is Manning, but then you have Brady with two Superbowl rings, and a chance for a third. Seriously Vick is a distant third. I may even put Culpepper above Vick, but that is besides the point.

I hate everything Boston, including the Patriots, but I do respect Tom Brady. I don't believe Vick when he says, "The only thing that matters is winning," but Brady seems to believe this. He doesn't put up Manning stats, but he wins games. Well, except Monday Night against the frickin' Dolphins! But really, in the Big Game, which QB do you want on your side of the ball?

Wrong!! But nice try, it was a trick question!

The correct answer, Drew Brees! This is the year of the Chargers.

Period!

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't pay Brees bus fair to throw footballs through a tire on a rope at the county fair for the chance to win a stuffed donkey! I love his play this year, but what is San Diego going to do? Keep him, or keep Philip Rivers? I do guarantee this, whatever they do, will be the wrong decission.

But I digress, is Vick the best player in the league?

I cannot say yes to this question! He is a great athelete, he can run, and he can throw, kinda.

So what the hell makes this guy worth all this cash?

Easy question my friends, The Falcons are selling tickets. People want to see the Falcons play, when is the last time you heard that?

Vick puts asses in seats, end of story.

So all, is this what we want? Is this what sports has come to? Screw winning, I just want a guy that MAY do something exciting, or maybe suck ass, I don't care!

You're right, if their football season only lasts one week into the playoffs, that's OK, 'cause did you see that sick run he had on Sportscenter's Top 10?

Sorry, I'll take Brady.

The Fu2r is this---Vick proves to be a bust. I'll give him two solid seasons, not stellar, but good, then he's finished, and Atlanta cries about their crappy Falcons once again.
